Data-rich live cell insights

Pixel plates are at the core of our systems, and a wide range of biological coatings enables plating of any cell type, spheroid or 3D organoid system. These proprietary 96- or 384-well microplates are embedded with custom-designed CMOS microchips at the base of each well, which provide thousands of measurement and stimulation electrodes.

Live cells grow in culture media on top of high-density electrode arrays. Multiparametric real-time readouts are captured at single-cell resolution, and the data can be quickly analyzed using our interactive, cloud-based Pixel Pro software.

Multi-modal live cell monitoring

Contemporary tools offer a single readout modality and compromise between spatial resolution and throughput. The high-dimensional data, spatial images and longitudinal videos Pixel generates enables data collection at a scale that wasn’t possible before on the same cell culture. Epithelial cell growth

Epithelial sheets are living, breathing dynamic structures, exhibiting long-range motion and flow of cells in the sheet. Pixel electrical imaging lets you observe and quantify this behavior label free, at scale. Watch kidney epithelial cells grow, form connections and interact in a sheet.

Motility

Motility is a tightly regulated cellular property that forms the crux of an array of physiological processes. Pixel allows continuous monitoring of single cells with no loss in time resolution during scale up. Here, metastatic breast cancer cells show long range motion over 48 hours of imaging.

Cell death

Visualize cell death at single cell-resolution. Compare cellular phenotypes between responders and non-responders in the population. Here A549 cells were treated with DMSO or Doxorubicin to observe cell death real-time.

Data analytics

Real-time videos and recordings are uploaded to our cloud-based Pixel Pro software which includes feature extraction, population analysis, and tunable bio-basis parameter outputs. We can also collaborate with you to develop custom data analytics for specific biological questions.
